Tour Overview
This 8 Days Gorilla Tracking Tour takes you to 4 National Parks, Murchison falls National Park & Queen Elizabeth Np for game drives and a boat cruises on the Nile and Kazinga Channel in search for wildlife, then to Bwindi Impenetrable Np for gorilla trekking, and then to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking, Thereafter, you will drive back to Entebbe for your flight out, marking the end of your 8-Day Gorilla Tracking Tour. This trip starts and ends in Entebbe. You will be able to see the gorillas, chimpanzees, a Variety of Bird species and a variety of wildlife.
Trip Highlights
Our drive /Guide will arrive at an agreed place of your convenience at 6:00 am, you will have a briefing about the Safari and then head north to Murchison Falls National Park, driving through the famous Luwero triangle then head north to Murchison Falls National Park, Our first stopover will be at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. The trek can take anything from a few minutes to an hour depending on where the Rhinos are located within the sanctuary. You will receive a briefing from the ranger guide and start on your Rhino trek. After this experience, you will have lunch at Kabalega Dinners and then proceed to the park where you will arrive late in the evening. for Dinner and overnight, enjoy a beautiful evening at your Lodge
With an early start, you will head out for an early morning game drive to see the various wildlife as you explore the various habitats. Some of the animals you will spot include elephants, hyenas, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes and giraffes among many others then leiter you will go have lunch. After lunch you will head out on a 2 hours’ launch cruise of the River Nile to the bottom of the waterfalls which you will be able to see in their full mighty. You will encounter various wildlife along the river banks such as the giant Nile crocodiles, large numbers of hippos, birds and elephants among others. Later you will return to your accommodation for dinner and the overnight.
After Breakfast the driver will transfer you to Kibale national park. Via the top of the Murchison falls where 1 km wide Nile forced into a 7-meter gap to a thunderous roar – known as the most powerful falls. There is a resident beautiful rainbow formed making a contrast with the crashing water. After the experience, we proceed to Kibale national Park, en route You will view local homesteads, green countryside and local farms along the Alberdandelione Rift escarpment. The journey takes 7-8 hours drive and you will check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing on the Dos and Don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into small groups of six people headed by one guide who will then move with you into the forest to find one of the Chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities of between 50-250 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will then recollect in the evening to build their nests.
Trekking and Observation: Once you find the Chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the Chimps before returning to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park have dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
The day starts with a morning game drive at Kasenyi plains in the northern part of the park. Your driver will pick you up very early in the morning at your lodge. The game drive starts 6:30Am and lasts between 3-4 hours in hunt for the lions and other game. Depending on the luck of the day you may also be able to meet the leopards en-route. You will also see a variety of other game including elephants, Cape buffaloes, warthogs, leopards, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and a lot of small animals and birds. Proceed to Kasenyi Salt Lake for relaxing views and photos after that long game drive. You can also be able to have a cup of coffee their and buy some souvenirs then Drive Back to your Lodge for Lunch, then After lunch, you will be driven to Mweya for the 2 pm boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This will be so exciting and breathtaking as you view schools of hippos, Elephants, Buffaloes, crocodiles and many animals on the banks plus water birds. Kazinga channel links the two big lakes of L. Edward and George. The trip takes 2 hours of exploration as you marvel and take photos of numerous game that come to bathe and drink water after a dehydrating hot day. Expect to see numerous water birds which grace the sand banks such as pelican’s, then after go back to your lodge for Dinner and overnight stay.
Take African coffee and then the driver will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for gorilla trekking. You will pass via the Ishasha area where you will do a game drive see tree-climbing lions and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After your early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the Park Headquarters to join others for briefing before heading into the forest for your gorilla trek. This trek can last for between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of mountain gorilla family on that particular day. Trek and observation: Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them while observing their behavior, taking photographs before you return to the Park Headquarters for your certificate that confirms that you have tracked gorillas in Uganda. Later, return back to the lodge and in the evening you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Have dinner and overnight.
You will have breakfast and after breakfast our driver will transfer you back to Kampala. You will have stopover in mbarara town for lunch and then proceed to Uganda equator for photo shots. You will arrival to Kampala in the evening, the driver will either drop you to the hotel or to Entebbe international airport to catch-up with your flight.
