Permit payment and your safari quote

Since 1 March 2026, UWA requires full permit payment at booking. Its seven-day unpaid reservation window is suspended. This rule is separate from payment arrangements for the rest of your safari.

Ask for a dated quote that identifies your permit activity, visitor category, travel dates, accommodation, transport, meals, guiding and optional activities. A permit fee is not a safari package price. Confirm availability and cancellation or rescheduling conditions before booking.

Comparing Uganda with Rwanda

The Rwanda Development Board currently lists USD 1,500 for foreign visitors. Other eligible categories have different rates and promotional date rules. Check your category and travel dates on the official Rwanda gorilla permit portal.
